The coast of Haylazlı Village, located in the Yumurtalık District of Adana, is a point with great potential in the field of kitesurfing. Because it is in the sheltered area of the Yelkoma Lagoon, the wind season is long, and the sea is sufficient in terms of security. Kiteboarding activities, which have just started here, have an infrastructure that will become an international center of attraction with the necessary touches. Çukurova Kiteboard Academy operates here. With the completion of the project supported by Çukurova Development Agency and the launch of Haylazlı Water Sports Center, this place will become an important center of attraction in its field.
Akyaka, Gökçeada and Alaçatı stand out among the areas where kitesurfing is done in Turkey. However, Haylazlı in Adana is in an advantageous position with its natural opportunities in this area.
One of the most important advantages of Haylazlı Beach in the field of kitesurfing is the length of the season. This area gets wind from the sea for more than 6 months from April to October and offers a longer season for kite lovers.
Another advantage of Haylazlı in kiteboarding is that Yelkoma Lagoon, as a cape, prevents waves coming from the open sea, thus offering the most ideal environment for kiteboarding with a windy but smooth sea.
The shallowness of the sea in Haylazlı also provides an important advantage to perform this sport safely. As you move from the shore, the depth of the water does not increase and continues as 80 cm for a long time.
Kitesurfing lessons are given at the school in Haylazlı, where an operator, who is also a kitesurfing instructor, operates, and kiteboards are rented to those who wish. Here, a small number of national and international athletes come for activities that have just started.
There is no accommodation opportunity near the Haylazlı kitesurf area yet. However, athletes who wish can camp in the area provided by the business here. It is envisaged that a house in the village of Haylazlı will provide hostel service in the near future. There are accommodation opportunities for kitesurfers who come here in Yumurtalık Town Center, which is about 10 km away.
Food and beverage service is also provided in a cafe run by the Kitesurfing School.
Haylazlı Beach stretches along a very wide beach and besides kitesurfing, there is also the opportunity to swim with family or friends for those who wish.
Where is the Haylazlı Kiteboarding Area? How to go?
Haylazlı Kiteboarding Area is located within the borders of Haylazlı District of Yumurtalık District of Adana. It is 1 km from Haylazlı Village, 10 km from Yumurtalık Town Center, and 51 km from Adana City Center.
To get to the Haylazlı Kiteboard Area from Adana, you must turn to the Yamaçlı Village road on the Karataş road and pass through the villages of Alihocalı, Herekli, Akpınar and reach the Haylazlı District. After reaching the Haylazlı District, the signs will direct you to this area.
To go from Adana to the Haylazlı Kiteboard Area by public transport, you can use the Yumurtalık Minibuses departing from Yüreğir District Bus Station every hour. These vehicles pass through Haylazlı Mahallesi, which is within walking distance of the kiteboarding area.
